JOURNAL DESCRIPTION

Malaysian International Journal of Research in Teacher Education (MIJORiTE) is an academic double blind peer-reviewed journal which is published annually in English under the responsibility of the Department of Planning, Research and Innovation (formerly known as Department of Research and Innovations in Teaching Professionalism and with effect from 1 January 2020) of the Institute of Teacher Education, Penang Campus, Penang, Malaysia (PRI Dept, ITEPC).

The journal is fundamentally concerned with the improvement of teacher education, pre-service and in-service teacher training, curriculum and educational policy to bring about improvement in student learning and learner education.

MIJORiTE welcomes research articles that explore and focus on issues pertaining to teacher education, pre-service and in-service training, teacher professional development, teaching and learning, curriculum and educational policy situated in the local and/or international perspectives and contexts. The journal allows for empirical research that adopt varied approaches (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods) and cover multi-disciplines making it not only an appropriate platform to offer readers an invaluable collection of premium quality scholarly research papers but also an appropriate channel for the small voice of the researcher to be heard and for the authorities to trim, embrace, expand and make headway.

All Authors’ works that are of sufficient quality (verified and approved by Referees and the Editorial Board) will be accepted for publication. Accepted papers, including pilot study findings should describe complete results, rather than work in progress. Papers should contribute new knowledge to the existing pool. Research findings serve to confirm, extend, enhance, connect and establish theory to practice; the discussion and conclusion of such findings should tie in to teacher education / training / development, teaching and learning, curriculum and policy for relevance.

MIJORiTE does not publish concept papers, action research papers, book reviews, programme/course evaluation reports or instrument development or validation write-ups unless data derived from the use of the instrument shed insights relevant for the consideration and improvement of teacher education / training /  development, teaching and learning, curriculum and policy.
