1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Malaysian International Journal of Research in Teacher Education (MIJORiTE) is an academic double blind peer reviewed journal published annually by the Department of Research and Innovations in Teaching Professionalism of the Institute of Teacher Education, Penang Campus, Penang, Malaysia. It provides a sound platform for academicians, researchers, practitioners and others interested in current and emerging issues pertaining to teaching and learning, teacher training, and teacher education situated in the local and/or international perspectives and contexts. The journal allows for empirical research that adopt varied approaches and cover varied disciplines making it an appropriate platform to offer readers an invaluable pool of high quality scholarly research papers.

The journal is academic with use of American Psychological Association (APA 6th edition) style referencing and without footnotes. All submissions will undergo double screenings for content, technical, and language checks to determine their eligibility for double, or if necessary, triple blind peer review. Concept papers and action research papers are not acceptable. Accepted papers should describe complete results, rather than work in progress. Acceptance of articles is not guaranteed and is subject to Authors’ willingness to amend their manuscripts as per Evaluators / Editors / Reviewers’ comments. All Authors’ works that are of sufficient quality will be accepted for publication.

1.0 MIJORiTE PROFILE SHEET

1.2 Select “Reviewer” under the Category of Contributor.
1.3 Reviewer registration deadline: 12.00 midnight on Sunday 8 December 2019 (Malaysia time).
2.0 MIJORiTE 2019 REVIEW PROCESS
2.1 Based on your Profile (see clause 1.1), every effort will be made to send to you papers that are appropriate to your area of expertise and your knowledge of specific area or topic.
2.2 For MIJORiTE Volume 2, 2019, assignment of a maximum of three (3) papers per Reviewer.
2.3 Paper review deadline: 12.00 midnight on Sunday 8 December 2019 (Malaysia time).
The review and evaluation process for MIJORiTE Volume 2, 2019 is tentatively fixed as follows:
20 Oct 2019: Author Manuscript submission
21 - 25 Oct: Editor Blind screening. Technical check
26 Oct - 10 Nov: Internal Evaluator Blind evaluation. Content and language checks
10 – 17 Nov: Author Manuscript amendment
18 – 20 Nov: Evaluator/Editor approve OR reject Author Amended Manuscript
20 Nov - 8 Dec: Reviewer Double blind peer review
8 – 15 Dec: Author Paper correction
16 – 22 Dec: Reviewer/Editor approve OR reject Author Revised Paper
23 – 29 Dec: Editor Technical check and DTP works
4.4 Names of Reviewer and Author are withheld.
4.4.1 Each Reviewer is identified by a Reviewer Code.
Example: RW01AP
4.4.2 Each paper is given a Paper Code. It appears on the top-left hand corner of every page of the article.
Example: P01-AC01KE-QL07lan
4.4.3 Both the Paper Code and Reviewer Code are to be used in all (email) correspondences and/or enquiries pertaining to the paper(s) under review.
Example: P01-AC01KE-QL07lan_RW01TH
5.0 REVIEWER REPORT
5.1 BEFORE paper review
5.1.1 Please access the online Paper Review & Evaluation Form for Reviewers. Note that this form is named as “Reviewer Report”.

5.2 DURING paper review
5.2.1 Please refer to "Paper Review & Evaluation Guidelines for Reviewers" to guide you in completing the Paper Review & Evaluation Form.
5.2.2 You may add comments and suggestions to particular parts of the Author’s manuscript (.docx format) at your own discretion.
5.3 AFTER paper review
5.3.1 When you have completed the review and evaluation, this form becomes your Reviewer Report.
5.3.2 Email the reviewed paper with comments, if any back to The Managing Editor at mijoriteITEPC@gmail.com.
6.0 DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
6.1 Participation in the peer-review process is essential to the success and reputation of MIJORiTE:
(a) Review all papers objectively, fairly and professionally
(b) Should ensure the originality of a paper
(c) Be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication.

Reveal any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing

Disclose any conflict of interest before agreeing to review a paper

Can refuse to review any paper due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge
(g) Adhere to the time allocated for the review process.
(h) Observe confidentiality and refrain from discussing the content of the papers reviewed with an unrelated party, that is, a person that has no direct or indirect interest in MIJORiTE.
6.2 The Reviewer Report containing the Reviewer’s comments, suggestions and recommendations will be conveyed to the Author.
6.2.1 In cases where the Reviewer has recommended major corrections be done and when the Author has corrected, revised and resubmitted a paper as per the Reviewer’s comments and suggestions, every effort will be made to send the Author Revised Paper together with the Paper Correction Sheet (containing annotations for the corrections made) to the same Reviewer who has reviewed and commented on the original submission for acceptance or rejection.
6.2.2 In cases where two or three Reviewers of the same paper in the double (or triple) blind review process similarly recommend major corrections be done, acceptance of Author Revised Paper or rejection of the reviewed paper without returning it to the Author to revise and resubmit is at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
6.2.3 In cases where the Author is requested to perform minor corrections as per Reviewer’s comments, acceptance or rejection of Author Revised Paper may be EITHER the same Reviewer who has reviewed and commented on the original submission OR at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
6.3 Please inform the Managing Editor in any of the following cases:
(a) Change in your email address
(b) Change in your affiliation
(c) Any extended absences
(d) Unavailability to review
(e) Request for an extension if you are unable to return a review by the deadline
(f) Other concerns
